Rivers State Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru has charged youths to take their life partners from responsible families with a view to sustaining and stabilizing their marriages.
Engr. Ikuru gave the charge during a traditional marriage ceremony between Engr. Temitayo Odugbemi and Miss Sotonye Omuku at Stadium road, Port Harcourt.
He contended that young men who make mistakes in their first step to life when choosing their life partners always find it difficult to recover, noting that only few recover when they take such wrong steps otherwise they would wait for another life time.
The Deputy Governor congratulated Mr. Odugbemi for choosing his wife from a responsible family, commending Mr. Precious Omoku, Chairman, Due Process Bureau, Rivers State and father of the bride for the serious and careful up-bringing of his children.
Noting the herculean task of child up-bringing, Engr. Ikuru said parents deserve awards and should be seen as winners for nurturing their children from infancy to adult-hood and making them ready for marriage.
Dignitaries that witnessed the ceremony include, Senator Olorunimbe Mamora, Leader of Action Congress in the National Assembly, Mr. Oronto Douglas, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Documentation and Strategy, Dr. Ben Birabi, for Senator and member, Due Process Bureau, Rivers State and Mr. Von Kemedi Gemiari, Director General, Due Process and E-Governance, Bayelsa State among others.
